WSOP: Going for Gold

April 9, 2007 | Poker

Poker

Jamie Gold stormed to victory in the 2006 World Series of Poker, amid some controversy before he even lifted the bracelet and $12m 1st prize.

He talked a lot during the televised event, and was put down for doing so - partially because he was semi-talking about hands whilst there were others still to act.

The following video shows two excellent scenes with Gold, the first at the start of the video showing a bluff against pro-player Prahled Friedman who reads him perfectly, the second against his friend Lee Kort.

This article shows Jamie Gold admitting his actions were wrong, but at the end of the day I thought he played excellent poker and showed how important the psychological aspects of the game is throughout the event.
